My first recipe Granola Bars

So, I’m posting my first recipe (first of many) hurrah!!!!

This is my Granola Bar recipe, I adapted this from a flapjack recipe I was given a few years ago and they’re pretty yummy!! Have a go and let me know what you think! 🙂


  • 300g Oats
  • 175g Butter
  • 175g Soft brown sugar
  • 175g Honey
  • 100g Mixed Seeds
  • 30g Dried Fruit
  • 100g Mixed Nuts

Pre-heat oven to 160 degrees and line an 8″x10″  baking tin

In a bowl mix the oats, seeds, fruit and nuts together. In a pan melt the butter, sugar and honey together. Add the honey mixture to the oats and mix well, it may seem dry but keep mixing, it will come together.

spread the mixture out in the lined tray and bake for 20 mins if you want them soft or 30-35 mins if you want a harder bake (ooooo errrr missus) they should be golden brown when done

Now the important bit, when they come out of the oven and while they’re still hot and still in the tin, cut them through and press them quite firmly with the back of a spoon to make them more Granola Bar and less Flapjack. when cut, press again to really compact the mixture. Leave to cool, break apart and ENJOY!!! 🙂

Great for Breakfast, Lunchboxes, elevenses, afternoon snack and a late night munch!
